ABOUT

ABOUT

2024 sees the return of the Sandy Krak Reef Festival! After a momentous festival in 2022 this years Sandy is set to be the seminal event for our region. Fourteen bands, local and afar, will take to the stage to enamor the audience with a range of genres from Rock to Reggae, Indy, Pop, and Metal. With the addition of a separate DJ stage there’ll be music with far reaching appeal. Expect a fantastic array of art centred workshops, activities, and market stalls, wrapped up in an eco-friendly, culturally rich sandy blanket. There’s more! Not 1 but 2 live art attractions will take place by renowned local artists and the introduction of the Sandy Games where punters of all ages can take part in light hearted reef themed fun! An event not to be missed!

The Sandy Krak began when local band the Masters of Mayhem wanted to perform in Emu Park. Not only did they play, but they brought a variety of friends and peers in the local music and art scene to join them and thus, The Sandy Krak was born!

Since our humble beginnings we are now bringing you a festival that intertwines art, music, culture, sustainability and looking after the Reef! We are now known as the 'Sandy Krak Reef Festival'. The Festival hosts a range of market stalls, beach clean-ups, kids activities, workshops, local musical talent, live art and more!

The festival will kick off with a welcome to country with Garridalla dancers. We look forward to seeing you there!
