Outdoor Skillz 4 Kids

 Key Knots to Know

I suggest running through some key knots because it forms the basis of most bushcraft activities. There are 4 key knots each with a unique function, and once you know these then you can do pretty much anything. No need to learn hundreds of knot – you just need to know a few under the 4 key functions umbrella.

Shelter

Shelter (protection from the environment) is a priority in a survival situation. We can build a shelter using simple and minimal materials. Experimenting with different design / construction methods create a Sandy shelter.

Tyrone Kolbe
Founder and Managing Director

I am an outdoor enthusiast with over 25 years of

wilderness and mountaineering experience.
I served in the military where I gained formal wilderness and
sea survival training. I have experience in high altitude mountaineering and enjoy expeditions focused on self
reliance. I am a proud dad to two teenage girls who I've taught outdoor skills to since they were toddlers. Not only has this helped them develop a love of nature, but it has also strengthened our bond. My mission is to help parents, kids and families engage and connect with nature. Outdoor skills is more than "survival skills".

What we learn in nature overflows into many other
aspects of life.
